ABOUT THE DUO
Pinió Dovalis Benetatos and Katheryn Klein began their musical association in 1988. Throughout their 23 years as a duo team, they have presented lecture-recitals for various branches of MTAC in Southern California. Their innovative programs combine standard repertory with unusual transcriptions, important contemporary works and neglected masterpieces.
Benetatos and Klein are active members of MTAC, MTNA, CAPMT and the National Guild of Piano Teachers. They have been showcased with the Aliso Viejo, Long Beach Community College, Orange Coast College, Eagle Rock, San Juan Capistrano, Garden Grove, and San Fernando symphonies, performing works including Poulenc’s Two- Piano Concerto in d minor, Mozart’s Concert for Two Pianos K365, and Carnival of the Animals by Saint-Saens. They have donated a number of their concert proceeds to non-profit organizations needing assistance, including the Child Abuse Prevention Council of Orange County and Arts and Services for the Disabled, based in Long Beach. Their current goal is to present concerts to benefit the Ronald McDonald Houses in California and New York.
